We are looking to recruit an exceptional museum or heritage professional with demonstrable experience of establishing, developing and maintaining key partnerships to develop, coordinate and manage delivery of the North East Museum Development Programme, as part of Arts Council England’s National programme.

You will need to be able to quickly develop a good understanding of the context and needs of museums across the North East. You will be responsible for supporting museums across the region and for overseeing the delivery of the 2018-22 plan, supporting participation in Museum Development-led schemes, training, grants programmes and networks. The work includes overseeing support for Museum Accreditation, advising museums on how to achieve the national standard. https://museumdevelopmentne.org.uk/
To be successful in this role, you will need recent experience of working in or with museums and/or heritage. The successful applicant will be experienced in providing support to museums/heritage organisations of different types and scale, and will have knowledge and experience of a broad range of museum-related issues. You will be an excellent communicator who is able to work flexibly and collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and colleagues across the sector.
