MPS/UPS - Full Time/Part Time – Permanent


The Trustees are seeking to appoint an English Teacher for Academy 360 with effect from April 2019 or sooner.

Academy 360 is a rapidly improving secondary school in Sunderland at the heart of its local community. We are seeking to appoint an innovative, motivated and enthusiastic English Teacher who has vision, can take initiative, and can contribute to outstanding results. You will need to have the drive, commitment and excellent organisational skills necessary to work within the Academy and meet the current and future needs of their pupils.

An opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and outstanding English Teacher to join our Academy. The successful candidate will be an outstanding, passionate and dynamic teacher to join our hard working, well-resourced English department. The ideal candidate will offer high quality teaching at KS3 and KS4 and have a passion for working with young people. Applicants will be expected to have excellent subject knowledge and enjoy working as part of a creative team which continually looks to deepen its understanding of the new GCSEs and to improve its delivery of content through sharing of best practice.

The Academy has recently joined Laidlaw School Trust (LST); The Laidlaw Schools Trust is a growing family of six schools helping transform thousands of young lives in North East England. LST invests significantly in the training and development of all staff and is able to offer all staff a wide range of opportunities and benefits.

Academy 360 is an All through Academy providing education for pupils aged 4 – 16. It also includes a specialist school for pupils with MLD. As a member of Laidlaw Schools Trust Academy 360 benefits from the support of being a partner in a small local Multi Academy Trust which also includes one of the main feeder Primary schools for the academy’s Secondary school. Staff and pupils benefit from the many advantages of All through education.

The successful candidate will join a successful MAT where all Academies support each other to the benefit of our pupils and their families. Our Academies also enjoy strong support from an experienced LST central team, based in Newcastle upon Tyne.
