Further Information
Our aspiration is to give the children and young people within the South Tees region the best possible start in life and although we are proud of our journey so far, we recognise there is always more to do.

Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, together with Middlesbrough Council, Cleveland Police and the Clinical Commissioning Group are currently developing a Multi-Agency Children’s Hub.

We are seeking to recruit social workers to help us to deliver the best possible services to our children and families. This pivotal role puts you at the heart of the continuous improvement journey for the safeguarding of children and young people.

Working as part of a wider team to improve safeguarding you will have opportunities to help shape the service to ensure children are protected; your role will provide professionals and concerned members of the public with advice and guidance that will be key to safeguarding; in line with policy, best practice, professional standards and legislation, therefore, ensuring children are always at the centre of our practices. You will not hold cases or undertake visits and will be dedicated to providing advice and guidance at a professional level, liaising with partners and attending strategy meetings to assist in critical decision making.

You will be part of a diverse team that will be situated at Daisy Lane, Ormesby, which will provide the ‘front door’ services (which include safeguarding and early help) on behalf of both Redcar & Cleveland and Middlesbrough. Professional partners who will be co-located will ensure that you have the relevant access to information to inform decision making.

As the successful candidate you will be an experienced and qualified Social Worker.

The post offers a competitive salary and employee benefits including Local Government Pension Scheme, employee discounts and flexible working. We will provide you with a comprehensive induction programme, dedicated supervision and a range of great CPD opportunities as well as further management development.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience of Children’s Services, especially Safeguarding and Early Help 'front door', to develop an innovative service based on best practice.
