Durham Newly Qualified Teaching Pool
Durham Local Authority operate a recruitment pool for Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs).
Applications are welcome from Newly Qualified Teachers who are seeking their first appointment from September 2019. We accept applications from both primary and secondary NQTs.
The closing date for receipt of applications is Wednesday 20th February 2019.
Headteachers with school vacancies will be able to access the NQT Pool application forms from 1st April 2019. Candidates meeting the requirements of the school vacancy will be contacted by the Headteacher directly and invited for interview.
All appointments will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service Check, references and a pre-employment health check, which will be conducted by the employing school.
Please note:
Schools can access application forms at any time during the year, as need arises, so do not worry if you are not immediately successful. However, the Durham Newly Qualified Teaching Pool does not guarantee employment, so we would always recommend that you continue to look for advertised posts in all the usual places, to maximise your chances.
