Wheatley Hill Community Primary School is seeking to appoint an inspirational Assistant Headteacher to lead Teaching, Learning and Assessment across our rapidly growing school.

The Assistant Head Teacher will be responsible for ensuring Teaching, Learning & Assessment is consistently effective, innovative and engaging throughout school. The ideal candidate will be keen to grow a high performing school culture through exceptionally well led teaching approaches, assessment systems, moderation and staffing deployments.

A key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the appointee will play a major role in contributing to the strategic direction of the school, with a special emphasis on ensuring Teaching, Learning and Assessment is robust and our school’s curriculum offer remains forward thinking and maximises pupil outcomes.

The Assistant Head will also be responsible for ensuring Heads of Department, Senior Teachers and Middle Leaders are maintaining consistently high standards to ensure sharp practice in all areas of Teaching, Learning and Assessment as well as holding staff to account through rigorous quality assurance processes.

It is essential that applicants have excellent teaching skills, high quality workbook expectations and a passion for improving outcomes for all children, as they will lead by example, demonstrating excellence in their own practices and provide a model for others to aspire toward.

The school will offer the successful candidate significant leadership support, physical and financial resources and the operational freedom to develop within the role to drive standards across our school.
