Location: Rainton Meadows Nature Reserve, Mallard Way, Houghton le Spring DH4 6PU.

Salary: £24,000 per annum pro rata 25 hours per week – Can be worked flexibly over 3 – 5 days per week.

Hours: 22.5 hours a week


Durham Wildlife Trust is an independent nature conservation charity and part of the federation of 47 organisations that together form the Wildlife Trusts. Durham Wildlife Trust is a membership organisation operating across County Durham, Gateshead, South Tyneside and Sunderland and Darlington. We engage our members, supporters, partners and wider society in the conservation effort by managing nature reserves and visitor facilities and delivering a range of nature conservation projects and initiatives.

Communications and Website Officer

To generate greater support for Durham Wildlife Trust and nature conservation by ensuring that the Trust has a high profile and the value of its work is widely recognised. To lead on transferring the Trust’s current website to the national Wildlife Trust template. To increase traffic through all online platforms. To co-ordinate the publication of the Trust’s members magazine and work across the organisation as the communications expert.
