The Service

Children’s Social Work Service sits within Northumberland’s Wellbeing and Community Health Services Directorate. It consists of;
- 4 Locality Safeguarding Teams
- MASH
- 14+ Team
- Children’s Disability Team
- Fostering

The role

We are looking for experienced social workers with 2 years post qualification experience within a social work role, or social workers who have successfully completed the ASYE Programme. These social workers will be committed professionals, determined to deliver an excellent service to vulnerable individuals aged 0-25 years, within our communities. Current opportunities are available within our Locality Safeguarding Teams in Blyth and Bedlington.

ABOUT YOU

You will always want to hear the child’s voice and ensure that this is taken into account.

You will be passionate about maximising a child’s life chances to improve their overall outcomes.

You will have excellent communication skills and be able to make decisions and plans with children and their families; utilising the Signs of Safety approach.

You will have a sound knowledge base of the Knowledge and Skills Statement for Child and Family Social Work and the application of Professional Capabilities Framework which will be embedded within all elements of your practice.

You will understand the importance of performance information and your contribution to maintaining high standards.

You will contribute to the development of the service.

You will be empathetic and sensitive to the needs of children, young people and families.

You will care enough to want to make a difference - every day.

You will hold a relevant Social Work qualification such as the Social Work Degree, DipSW, CQSW or CSS and be registered with the HCPC.
