The Service
We are a team of Health and Safety Advisers who are committed to providing an excellent advisory service to all functions of the County Council.

The role
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Health and Safety Adviser who has specific experience in the social care setting. The post holder will a member of the Council’s Corporate Health and Safety team, key responsibilities include:

-Undertaking establishment inspections
-Providing advice in relation to accidents, violent incidents and risk to staff assessments
-Reporting to senior officers and members

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

-A starting salary of £31,401 rising to £35,229

Essential requirements:
-A NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent with at least three years’ experience working in a large organisation
-Recent and relevant post qualification experience in a relevant context.
-Knowledge and experience of health and safety in a social care or education setting is highly desirable.
-Current driving license
-Able to determine priorities and work with limited supervision

Please note that successful applicants must be able to attend an interview/assessment centre on 19 March 2019. Interviews will comprise of a competency based interview. Successful candidates may be asked to return for a second interview where they will be asked to complete a 15 minute presentation.
