HeadStart is an ambitious programme with the aim of improving the emotional well-being and mental health of children and young people, with a strong emphasis on early intervention and prevention.
Over the next 18 months, the project team, directed by the HeadStart multi-sector board, will manage the local transformation plan that is developing an integrated 5 - 19 pathway of support within school, college and the community.

The HeadStart Youth Engagement Officer will have a proven track record in youth work delivery, direct work with children and young people, project management and will support the team in delivering the HeadStart transformation plans.

Applicants should have experience in the following:

Working within a children and young people's service.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

The key issues and challenges in improving mental health, emotional well-being, emotional resilience and well-being outcomes for children and young people.

Working with a broad range of partner organisations to deliver joint objectives.

Working in and/or with a wide range of agencies in support of education, mental health, public health and well-being.
