Temporary post initially for 1 year

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within Park View School in their brand new purpose built Centre in Jarrow. The Centre is planned to open in April 2019. The Centre will cater for students from South Tyneside who have been identified by their parent schools as vocational learners and have identified social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH).

The Centre will provisionally offer in Phase 1, Welding Skills, Performing Engineering Operations and Health and Safety Training. In Phase 2 Vehicle Mechanics will be offered and potentially, construction skills.

You will lead an academic programme(s) taking responsibility for the experience of all learners enrolled. Ensure the curriculum is aligned to awarding body requirements and that teaching, learning and assessment strategies used promote a high quality learning experience and facilitate learner progress leading to high levels of retention, achievement and progression.

You will liaise with local businesses/enterprises and post-16 providers to ensure the skills being taught are relevant to the local labour demand and promote positive pathways into further training and employment.
