St. Helen’s Primary School is seeking to appoint a skilled, committed and motivated Teaching Assistant to work within our Nursery setting. As part of the role applicants will be expected to support pupils on a 1:1 basis and within groups. It is essential that applicants have knowledge and experience of working with children with SEND.

St. Helen’s Primary School has 325 pupils inclusive of a 26 place Nursery and a 16 place 2-Year-Old provision. We have above average FSM and deprivation. The vision for St. Helen’s Primary School is to ‘enable all pupils (no matter what their background or starting point) to achieve their full potential and promote the school as a ‘beacon’ of the community, where aspirations are achieved and dreams are a reality for all pupils, staff and families’.

The successful candidate should have:

Experience of working with children and those who have a SEND
Good understanding of the Early Years Curriculum and be committed to high quality provision
Excellent communication skills
A positive attitude, flexibility and adaptability
Ability to work with groups and individual pupils under the guidance of a teacher
High expectations
