Aycliffe Secure Centre, however you may be required to work at any DCC council office.

Aycliffe Secure Centre is the largest secure children’s home nationally and provides for up to 38 young people who are admitted via the Youth Custody Service and family court process (under Welfare Orders). The state of the art building includes five separate houses, a school, leisure and social areas as well as facilities for office and maintenance staff.

We are seeking to appoint a full time, permanent Senior Care Manager to support the current Senior Management Team in providing leadership and management on all aspects of operations and strategic directions within Aycliffe Secure Centre.

Working at Aycliffe Secure Centre requires an absolute passion and drive to ensure the care and safety of young people and staff is delivered to the highest possible standard. The centre provides a national resource for young people who require exceptional services, safe care and nurture in order to support them with their extremely complex needs and help them move back into their community and have successful futures.

The successful candidate will be joining a team of management which were awarded “Outstanding” in leadership and management in their last Ofsted inspection. You should be able to demonstrate skills and knowledge that will allow you to be able to identify innovative ways of raising the profile of the centre, building and maintaining positive relationships to ensure a dynamic and customer focussed environment.

We are looking for someone to join our senior management team who will also be able to demonstrate, resourcefulness, excellent management skills, knowledge in childcare, be resilient and are able to develop professional relationships with all local authorities and outside agencies and with a proven track record in delivering high quality services. You will also be required to work in a multi discliplinary environment with partner agencies.

The role will be to support the Centre/Deputy Manager in setting strategic priorities, including management of staff, budgets and responsibility for the wellbeing and safety of all young people cared for by the service.

Required qualifications: Diploma or higher in management Level 5 or above
Required experience: Substantial experience in residential social care
