The Service
Housing Repairs and Maintenance Service is recruiting a suitably qualified and experienced property surveyor to join our team. The key responsibilities for the role are to carry out surveys and inspections in the Councils housing stock. The main areas of the role will be related to Damp/Condensation inspections along administering, Tenant home improvement process and be the Services lead in relation to tenant disrepair resolution. The role is busy and involves attending home visits to carry out surveys - Producing reports for senior management and raising remedial works using the councils internal workforce and approved contractors.

The role
Key responsibilities, - qualified building surveyor - carrying out surveys and attending appointments in tenants homes - providing reports - experienced in surveying for damp and other building defects - experience of housing disrepair preferably in social housing able to use i.t systems - contractor management from raising purchase orders to agreeing final account - ability to manage onsite operations by contractors and internal workforce - The repairs service is very client facing and this role will require the officer to be able to communicate verbally and in writing with all stakeholders of the council.
