The Financial Support Service provides a number of key front-line council functions to residents and businesses throughout the County. There are c70,000 Housing Benefit / LCTRS claimants; 237,000 council tax households; 14,000 business rate payers; and 7,000 adult social care charge paying clients supported by the service. Many of the clients supported are vulnerable.

There is a full time vacancy working 37 hours per week within the Payments, Income and Support Team in the role of Debtors & Collection Officer.

The successful candidates must have experience of dealing with members of the public in a caring, responsive manner, operating on line computer systems and relevant experience operating financial management systems.

Candidates should have NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, or, Level 2/3 with relevant experience working in a collection/recovery of Council Tax, Business Rates, sundry debt and/or Adult Social Care finance environment or a financial services/support environment.
