The post on offer is based at the centre of the council in the Resources Directorate which has key responsibility for managing the Council’s money and people as well as ensuring that democratic decisions are well informed and legally sound.

The Council is changing the way we deliver our IT Service and are reshaping the way the service impacts not only on the delivery of the Council’s business but also how it can help to radically improve the economy by improving the efficiency and effectiveness of all our IT-supported business processes. As such we are looking to recruit a creative and enthusiastic individual who will be instrumental in leading and delivering the service.

You will work alongside the Systems and Software Manger in the delivery of work required by the Systems & Software Team within the IT Service as defined in the IT workplan. You will be instrumental in providing day to day team leadership and overall operational management of the team.

The Systems and Software Team manages an extensive and varied line of business applications portfolio, covering enterprise level systems such as Finance, HR, Payroll, Geographical Information Systems, departmental systems such as Customer Services Relationship Management, Adult’s and Children’s Social Care Case Management, Educational & Youth Management Systems, Regulatory Services covering Environmental Health, Trading Standards, Licensing, Housing.

The suitable candidate will have knowledge and experience of the technical and operational management of IT systems with a key emphasis of the role being placed on strong end effective team leadership.
