Windlestone is a well-established and successful day and residential school for secondary aged students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs; all students have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

Due to the retirement of a long serving cook we are looking to appoint a cook who will provide quality nutritional school meals in our 5 star hygiene rated kitchen to students, staff and visitors.

You along with one other cook will be managing and contributing to the preparation, cooking and service of food and beverages at breakfast, lunchtime and teatime and be able to adapt menus to accommodate special dietary requirements. You will be required to adhere to all food hygiene and health and safety legislation.

This post is permanent and the hours are 37 hours per week
Week 1 6.45am-14.45pm (inclusive of break)
Week 2 9am-17.00pm (inclusive of break)

Monday to Friday

Start date: 23rd April 2019

This position is paid whole time with retainer adjustments applied to periods of school closure. You will not be required to work during the school closure periods however your salary in these periods will be adjusted accordingly in line with the retainer regulations as specified in the National Joint Council (NJC) Green Book agreement. The post holder will also be required to work an extra five days in addition to term time (paid via the submission of claim forms).

Where our roles are customer facing and you are required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
