i.e. pre-progression Grade 9/ post -progression Grade 11
£35,229- £39,002 (pro rata for part-time) (Grade 12) for Approved Mental Health Professional status

We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic and committed Social Worker/Approved Mental Health Professionals to deliver care co-ordination for people who experience severe and / or enduring mental health difficulties.

We currently have a number of permanent vacancies, both full time and part time within our integrated community Affective mental health teams and may have future vacancies within our Psychosis Teams.

The posts are located across County Durham and we would invite those interested in working within the locality to contact the lead officer for further information on locations if required.

The Community Intervention Teams (CITs) provide an integrated health and social care approach to support people with severe and enduring mental health problems and their carers. These functional teams provide statutory (Care Act 2014) and specialist interventions on behalf of both Durham County Council and Tees Esk and Wear Valley’s NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful applicants will join multi-disciplinary teams of workers who are committed to providing a flexible and effective service to people with affective disorders/psychosis disorders.


Required Qualifications: Applicants must hold a Social Work qualification i.e. DipSW, CSS or CQSW or equivalent and either be a qualified AMHP or be willing to train as an Approved Mental Health Professional.

Applicants must hold or be applying for HCPC registration.

The successful applicant for this post will be required to apply for a Disclosure Barring Service Enhanced Disclosure.
