Together for Children works on behalf of Sunderland Council to deliver children’s services in the city including social care, early help and education.
We are seeking to appoint an experienced commissioning specialist who can support us in our continuing journey to deliver a high quality services to children and young people and families in the city with our partners.
Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience of developing service specifications alongside other professionals to ensure that they meet Together for Children requirements, reflect commissioning intentions accurately and respond to relevant legislation and guidance.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate previous working knowledge of Children’s Services and in particular Special Educational Needs commissioning, have experience of partnership working both internally and externally, be analytical in their approach in order to make effective commissioning decisions and be confident in engaging key stakeholders. You will be confident, creative, flexible and enthusiastic about securing the best services for children, young people and families and be able to manage competing priorities.
This post is exempt from the rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore will be subject to a DBS check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
