Further information

The role will provide a range of intensive and tailored employment support to help out-of-work social housing tenants in North of Tyne area with specific focus in Northumberland to develop the skills and attributes needed to move from welfare benefits and in to work.

The successful candidate will enable positive and sustainable job outcomes for out-of-work social housing benefit claimants in Northumberland (This may include jobseekers aged 18-24 and/or 25+, Employment Support Allowance claimants with physical and mental health conditions, and other who need support to find work and stay in work).

They will be part of a small team of Employment Liaison Officers providing jobseekers with a bespoke programme of support leading to sustained employment, providing mentoring and additional support to help clients develop skills and attributes that leads to sustainable employment.

The successful candidate will demonstrate experience of supporting workless people into employment, have excellent customer service skills and will have a performance driven approach to meeting targets. They will have an understanding of labour markets and matching jobseekers with employer needs and be able to work effectively in partnership with a range of colleagues, agencies and employment services.
