An opportunity has arisen within Occupational Health and Safety for temporary maternity cover at County Hall, Durham. The post is temporary until approximately 2nd March 2020 or until the return of the post holder from maternity leave, whichever is sooner.

The OHS provides a full range of services to all Council employees in addition to a number of external contracts. Therefore, this is an interesting role, working within a supportive OH team of a Physician and Occupational Health Nurses who are supported by a team of Technical Support Assistants.

This job role involves carrying out many varied duties, including management of clinical diaries, taking telephone referrals, maintaining and updating filing systems and reception duties in addition to dealing with general OH enquiries.

The OHS is also currently working on a project of digitising OH medical records and the current post holder has taken a lead role assisting the OH Nurse Manager in achieving this. This work is ongoing therefore we are seeking someone who has excellent ICT skills and can continue assisting in the development of this project. Training on OHS systems will be provided.

Applicants should hold a BTEC National in Public Administration /NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration and experience or relevant equivalent qualification.

The successful applicant will be required to sign an Occupational Health Service confidentiality agreement.
