We are looking to recruit two Senior Resource Workers that will be based in the Interventions and Family Group Conference team. The Senior Resource Workers will undertake a range of tasks and will be responsible for the delivery of early interventions and specialist assessments. The senior worker will support families who access social work services, including using the Solihull Approach, Triple P Parenting Program and carrying out PAMS assessments.
Middlesbrough Council are investing in the development of a new Family Group conference service. This is a great opportunity to be part of a dedicated and passionate team that will deliver meetings which bring together families, members of the community and service providers to prevent children becoming looked after.
Some of your responsibilities will include identifying and preparing attendees, planning and arranging the practicalities and convening a Family Group Conference. We are looking for someone who will support and have a strong belief in family led decision making and the value of relationships in order to support children, young people, their extended family networks, and professionals to fully participate in the FGC process.
You will need to be committed to improving outcomes for children and promote the child's wishes and feelings. You will develop good joint working partnerships, with families, children and young people and their significant others, contributing to the development and implementation of the family plan. This may include you being willing to travel for visits or hold conferences in the evening or at weekends.
You must have at least 3 years' experience of working with children and families and working with people from other agencies. A recognised Child Care qualification (minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent), and a relevant degree or the ability to demonstrate an understanding of the relevant theoretical concepts is required.
You will need to work unsociable hours to meet the needs of families including evenings and weekends, you will also have to travel as part of this role. A Full UK Driving License and access to a car is a requirement for this post.
