An opportunity has arisen for a Housing Surveyor.

The post holder will be accountable to the Home Improvement Agency Team Leader and will contribute to the effective operation and ongoing development of the House Improvement Agency Service.

Working in the Home Improvement Agency you will be required to carry out full property inspections to establish housing conditions and to assess the best practical and reasonable solution. You will possess a sound knowledge of construction techniques and be experienced in identifying and remedying building defects, preparing detailed schedule of works as well as supervising works through to completion. Interpreting the Decent Homes standard and requirements of Occupational Therapists will also be necessary. A team player, you must have good PC skills, be self-motivated, a good communicator and have a practical approach to problem solving.

You will have a proven track record in the HIA sector or a background in surveying and supervising work on site.

Applicants should hold a HNC in Building Studies or equivalent relevant qualification and Certification as a competent person, for the purposes of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System. A professional qualification such as RICS/CIOB would be advantageous.

Travel is an essential requirement for the post.
