Further Information

Hartlepool is a vibrant and energetic town with growing prospects. As an authority we want to make Hartlepool the best it possibly can be and want dedicated, driven and committed staff to help us achieve that.

The successful applicant will work as part of a busy team enforcing a variety of environmental and traffic issues under the relevant legislation. Duties will include patrolling areas and investigating reported concerns, issuing Penalty Charge Notices / Fixed Penalty Notices and completing notes, reports and providing evidence in relation to the enforcement of the appropriate regulations.

The work is interesting and varied and can extend from the investigation and prosecution of environmental crime, through to the enforcement of dog controls within Public Spaces and the enforcement of local traffic regulation orders. Although training will be provided, applicants with previous experience of working in an enforcement background would be advantageous.

You will be required to work to work a 37 hours per week on a fixed 4 day rota shift pattern, which includes Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays. There may also be a requirement to carry out some additional enforcement outside of the fixed core working hours (8am-6pm) for which overtime will be paid. It is a requirement for the post holder to wear a uniform, which will be provided and applicants should be physically capable of patrolling large areas on foot.

Due to the sensitive and often confidential nature of the work, the successful applicant will be required to pass a Data Baring Service (DRB) and enhanced Police vetting check.
