Further Information
Why did you become a social worker?

• To work directly with people?
• Empower people to improve their lives?
• Make a difference to local communities?
• A belief that focusing on the strengths and assets of a person or community, rather than their deficits, will always produce better outcomes?
• A commitment to quality of opportunity, regardless of background and diversity?

We’ve recently reviewed our whole approach to supporting adults, and families in North Tyneside. We’ve introduced a new, dynamic model of support, built around our 4 small localities. This will enable you to build meaningful relationships with local GPs and providers, as well as shaping the future of the services we commission.

We’re using a strengths based approach to helping people transform their lives, which will focus on the community they are part of and that empowers them to take as much control of their lives as possible. You’ll have a static case load to enable you to get to know the people you work with over the life time of their personal budget and will be supported by an experienced lead practitioner.

We have a newly introduced case recording system with full agile working. You’ll have new IT kit to enable you to work from any community location and from home. As part of this we’re streamlining all administrative processes, maximising the time you spend with people, not paperwork.

We have a well-established programme of Continued Professional Development support and you’ll be given free access to range of online and face to face resources to help you evidence and develop your skills and practice; this is underpinned by a strong ethos of succession planning to support practitioners with career progression.

This post is permanent, 18.5 hours per week.

You will be appointed to LG Grade 8 or 9 depending on your qualifications and experience.
LG Grade 8 - £26,999 - £30,507 pa pro rata
LG Grade 9 - £31,371 - £34,788 pa pro rata
