Northumberland County Council is seeking to appoint a Service Manager for Electoral Services to lead our Elections Team through an exciting period of innovative change and development. The successful postholder will lead, direct, advise and manage the Election Services team and deliver a legally compliant, effective, efficient and customer focussed service. Providing professional advice to Elected Members, Senior Managers and service users on matters of strategy, policy and practice relating to electoral services issues is a key component of the role.

Working closely with the Council’s Electoral Registration Officer and Returning Officer, you will have comprehensive and up to date knowledge of election law, practice and procedures and extensive working knowledge and experience of electoral administration and managing elections. Specific responsibility will include the maintenance of registers, the annual canvass of households, canvass reform and organising elections. There will be support, advice, mentorship, personal and professional development for the successful candidate to ensure that they succeed within the role.

Salary: £41,675 - £50,394 (dependent upon experience)
