We are looking for three motivated people to join our team on a fixed-term basis. The posts would be ideal for someone currently working in a school who wants to broaden their experience or work with different groups of people.

One of the roles is to cover a temporary secondment working within the school attendance team. We are looking for an experienced administrator who will be confident speaking to schools and parents on the telephone to explain complex education related information. You will liaise with, support and challenge schools regarding the provision of child specific information to inform the statutory processes. You must possess good ICT skills and attention to detail.

For an informal discussion regarding this role, please contact Kay Harrison, Access and Attendance Officer on 0191 2774529 or kay.harrison@newcastle.gov.uk

The other two roles are part of a new project to support vulnerable families, specifically children of refugees, asylum seekers and Gypsy/Roma families, into school places.

The successful candidates will be confident working with families face to face at drop-in sessions and will liaise with schools on parent’s behalf to ensure students are admitted in a timely way. You will be responsible for capturing data which will be used to report on the project so must possess good ICT skills and attention to detail.

For an informal discussion, please contact Kirsty Saunders, Supporting Migration Project Lead on 0191 277 2120 or kirsty.saunders@newcastle.gov.uk
