We are seeking to recruit suitable people to work within the Children with Disabilities Home Support Team. You will work directly with children and young people with disabilities, their families and carer's to deliver short break support and services. This will include working with children and young people with challenging behaviour, moderate to severe disability, complex health needs, complex emotional problems, other additional/special needs. This role involves working in family homes and supporting children to access activities in the local community such as swimming, youth clubs etc.

For reasons of privacy and decency, two of the positions available will be restricted to male applicants only, as the role requires the delivery of direct personal care for males.

The successful candidates will provide a high quality of care and support, which meets the physical, emotional, intellectual, behavioral, health, social and cultural needs of the children and families for whom the team provides a service to.

Applicants must:

Have a recognised Child Care Qualification (minimum of QCF Level 3) or a willingness to achieve this award * Experience of working with children and young people

An understanding of child development and challenging behavior

A positive attitude and the ability to work with young people You will also be required to work unsocial hours - including early mornings, evenings, week-ends, bank holidays and nights when required. A Full UK Driving License and access to a car is a requirement for this post.
