We are looking for candidates who are passionate about making a difference, who have great communication skills, have initiative and experience of working in a social care environment. It is imperative to be caring, compassionate and able to work as part of a team as well as independently.

You also have to be able to follow instructions and be reliable.

Candidates must also be enthusiastic, flexible, and creative and work collaboratively to deliver person centred services.

We provide both respite and residential care for adults with learning disabilities with a varied range of care needs.

We are looking for a person who can deliver excellent care to a diverse service user group.

Key duties of the Residential Support Worker post will include:

To deputise in the absence of senior staff
To direct and support colleagues
Be committed to a customer led service
Have the ability to plan, assess, monitor and problem solve
Assist managers in the day to day running of the service.

The successful candidate will be committed to the continuing development of Learning Disability Care services. It is desirable that applicants have experience of working with adults who have learning disabilities; the successful applicant will need to be committed to the values of Middlesbrough Council.

Applicants will be expected to participate in the agreed working rota which includes mornings, evenings, weekends, waking nights and bank holidays as required.
