This is an exciting opportunity to join a new Connected Carers Team within Together For Children Fostering Sunderland.

We have been commissioned by Sunderland City Council to provide fostering services for Connected Carers and children and young people in Sunderland. This new team will provide an ideal opportunity to be innovative and do things differently to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and families .

We are looking for skilled and experienced Social Workers who have the passion and drive to complete robust Connected Carer assessments, to work within Court processes, to present assessments to the Fostering Panel and to help develop training and support opportunities for Connected carers and children and young people.

The main tasks of the post will be the assessment, training and supervision of Connected Carers. You will have the opportunity to work towards the development and establishment of the Connected Carers Team. Laptops and mobile phones are provided to make mobile and flexible working easier. We have introduced a career progression scheme which is underpinned by a professional learning and development plan. We ensure that all social workers receive regular, high quality supervision and annual appraisals. The role involves travelling and a clean driving licence and access to a car is required to be considered for the post.

Applicants must have experience in the completion of good quality evidence based assessments, hold a recognised Social Work qualification to degree level and have knowledge of Fostering Standards.
