About the role:
Our North East Hub in Newcastle recently secured a contract to deliver a floating support service to residents in the East of the city. Accordingly, we need a Housing Support Worker to join our new support team and work with people in their own homes. Clients will be singles or couples often with complex needs that predominantly live in the Private Rented Sector. Your challenge will be to help them sustain their tenancies and prevent homelessness by providing support and advice on a range of issues, including, but not limited to, tenancy, domestic abuse, welfare benefits, employment and child/adult protection. Along the way, you’ll collaborate with statutory and non-statutory agencies too, as well as utilise the specialities available within the Hub in order to secure better outcomes for people in housing need and help them thrive in their community.
About you:
Coming from a related environment, you’re customer-focused, proactive, creative and innovative, work well as part of a team and are used to completing risk assessments and writing support plans. What’s more, you have experience of working within a safeguarding framework and the listening and communication skills it takes to understand clients’ needs and deliver appropriate advice. Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications is important too, with experience of using a case management system preferred.
