An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of the Planning Policy, Economic Strategy and Environment Team.

We are looking for an individual who are passionate about environmental issues, is highly motivated and able to undertake a wide variety of work. This will include working alongside other officers and Members to develop and implement a Climate Change Action Plan to cover economic development, planning policy, biodiversity, energy use, climate change, flooding, waste and transport.

They will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on the progress of the Action Plan in working towards becoming a net carbon neutral Borough.

This is a new role that can shape the way forward by engaging with our residents, businesses and the wider community and partners to change behaviour.

The post holder will also develop and implement low carbon projects across the Council’s building and land portfolio, measure performance against invest to save and CO2 reduction criteria and trouble shoot problems that arise and identify practical solutions.

Applicants should have good experience of identifying and development of carbon reduction projects.
