The Trustees are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Science for Academy 360 with effect from January 2020 or earlier if available.

Academy 360 is a rapidly improving secondary school in Sunderland at the heart of its local community. An opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and outstanding Science Teacher to join our Academy. The successful candidate will be an outstanding, passionate and dynamic teacher to join our hard working, well-resourced Science department. The successful candidate will need to have the drive, commitment and excellent organisational skills necessary to work within the Academy and meet the current and future needs of their pupils.

The successful candidate will offer high quality teaching at KS3 and KS4 and have a passion for working with young people. Applicants will be expected to have excellent subject knowledge and enjoy working as part of a creative team which continually looks to deepen its understanding of the new GCSEs and to improve its delivery of content through sharing of best practice. The successful candidate will also be able to take initiative and can contribute to outstanding results.

The Academy is a member of Laidlaw School Trust (LST); The Laidlaw Schools Trust is a growing family of six schools helping transform thousands of young lives in North East England. LST invests significantly in the training and development of all staff and is able to offer all staff a wide range of opportunities and benefits. Our Academies also enjoy strong support from an experienced LST central team, based in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Academy 360 is an All through Academy providing education for pupils aged 4 – 16. It also includes a specialist school for pupils with MLD.
