Do you want to help shape and develop an Occupational Therapy service?

We are looking for a suitably qualified Occupational Therapist with extensive experience in social care to provide essential support to the Lead Occupational Therapist. We are looking for someone with coaching and mentoring skills as well as sound professional practice including experience of positive risk taking and safeguarding issues.

You will develop and support the team and foster effective working relationships with colleagues to the benefit of clients and their families. You will deputise for the Lead Occupational Therapist as appropriate and be responsible for allocating and supervising casework to team members, ensuring eligible residents receive timely and responsive intervention.

You will manage a small, complex caseload of your own, whilst providing support and expert advice to colleagues, peers and stakeholders.
Redcar and Cleveland council have committed to supporting preventative and early intervention approaches and has invested significantly in a new intermediate care centre, reablement services, extra care housing and independent living centre.

The service is part of the Integrated Occupational Therapy service which covers the whole of the health and social care system across the South Tees area, giving the postholder unique access to professional peer support, staff development and integrated working practices.
