The Governing Body of Roman Road Community Primary School wish to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant term time only. We are looking for someone who is flexible and a confident team player who has experience of working with children in a school or a similar setting.
Working hours are 8.45am – 12.00pm Monday to Thursday.
1pm – 3.30pm afternoon session (day negotiable)
You should have:
A NVQ/CACHE Level 2 for Teaching Assistants/Childcare or equivalent.
Worked or cared for children of a relevant age.
Good literacy and numeracy skills.
Understanding of child development and learning.
Understanding of KS2 curriculum and other learning programmes and strategies.
Understanding of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of legislation.
Effective use of IT to support learning.
Good communication skills.
Ability to encourage pupils to fulfil their potential, offering choice, support and praise.
Ability to encourage high standards of pupil discipline at all times and deal with any behaviour giving cause for concern.
Ability to work as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and own position within these.
