Further Information
Darlington Borough Council’s Provider Services are looking to recruit a Support Worker who has an interest in supporting adults with learning disabilities. The support we currently provide enables individuals to maintain and further develop skills to maximise independence and ensure their assessed needs are met.
We are looking to recruit a caring, friendly and motivated individual to provide both personal and practical support to people with a variety of needs, including some behavioural issues and complex physical needs.
This post is within the Supported Living Service and would entail supporting people to live in their own home, and to access their local community. There would be an expectation that you could also work within the respite service, which would include supporting individuals whilst they are on a short break within the respite bungalow. The post has a requirement to work shifts on a rota basis, including sleep-ins, weekends and some bank holidays.
You will be supporting people to take part in a range of both in house and community-based activities with a focus on promoting a healthy lifestyle and community inclusion. The successful applicants will have experience of working with adults with a learning disability.
As an employer we will provide:
• 31 days holiday plus bank holidays (Pro-rata) permanent staff only
• Formal Induction Programme
• Regular Management Supervision
• Access to Occupational Health, physiotherapy and counselling services
