School Business Manager – Get U Started Training, Ashington, Northumberland

We are an established independent alternative school, offering both primary and secondary placements. We are currently looking to recruit a full time School Business Manager to join our small, dedicated team.

You will be responsible for:

• Overall financial management of income and costs to include payroll.
• Premises management to include contract review and monitoring.
• Strategic oversight of facilities to include maintenance – including IT systems.
• All aspects of HR – to include safer recruitment.
• Health and Safety of the whole school.
• Meeting all policy requirements and ensuring the school is kept up to date on all relevant legislation.
• Leading the schools admin team.

The successful candidate will be an integral part of the school’s leadership team and will be required to work at both an operational and strategic level.

You will need excellent communication and leadership skills and must be able to present effectively and clearly to all stakeholders of the school in particular the Board of Trustees.

You should have experience of leading and developing systems and teams and an ability to manage a varied workload.

You will need to have the ability to manage your time effectively and to use your initiative, be professional with a flexible attitude.

You will be committed to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of all pupils within the school.

You will be familiar with the content of the most recent Keeping Children Safe in Education policy (KCSIE).

It is desirable that you have experience of this role, however we are interested in speaking to anyone who believes they have sufficient skills and knowledge to fulfil the role as on-going training will be provided:

A competitive salary of circa £23,000 + can be discussed, depending on experience.
