At St. Margaret’s CE (Cont.) Primary School our ethos is underpinned by our vision statement which is ‘Let your light shine…’ and was described in a recent SIAMS inspection as a place,’… that does not just shine, it powerfully glows like a beacon of light within the school and beyond.’ (SIAMS 2019)

Due to the promotion of the present postholder after ten years of dedicated service, the Governors seek to appoint a committed, experienced and dynamic teacher with senior management experience to continue to support the growth and development of our wonderful school where, ‘…the unique needs of every individual are met and adults and pupils thrive.’ (SIAMS 2019)

This is an exciting opportunity to join the leadership team of this popular and successful school, where children not only excel academically but also through sport and the arts. It has 420 pupils on roll and is situated in the beautiful city of Durham, within walking distance of Durham Cathedral.

Applicants will need to build on the school’s achievements with vision and enthusiasm and provide leadership of the highest quality in the academic, pastoral and management fields. They must be able to show evidence of the successful implementation of change and must be supportive of the strong Christian ethos and values of the school.

As this role is customer facing and you are required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post. As a disability confident employer, we are committed to employing disabled people and people with health conditions, making reasonable adjustments to support disabled applicants where required.

Application forms and an information pack are available from and returnable to The Corporate Director of Children and Young People’s Services, c/o the School and Governor Support Service, Children and Young People’s Services, County Hall, Durham. DH1 5UJ, or email SGSS.Administration@durham.gov.uk

Closing date for receipt of applications: Tuesday 26 November 2019 at noon.

Interview date: Friday 6th December 2019.

The Governing Body is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Any offer of employment will be subject to receipt of a satisfactory DBS Disclosure Form.

THE POST IS NOT OPEN TO JOB SHARE.
