The Performance Management & Information Team is responsible for a wide range of services across Care Wellbeing and Learning group including monitoring the performance of services, producing business intelligence data, information and statistics to inform decision making, carrying out research projects and development of information systems to ensure accurate and effective recording of data.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team as a Business Intelligence Analyst. Reporting to the Principal Management Information Officer (Business Intelligence) you will support the development of business intelligence data and frameworks that link activity data with costs allowing services to review and ensure value for money, work with services to identify change and solutions, undertake business process redesign, review data collection methodologies and recommend customer-focused service improvements. The role will work across the Group and service areas to support an evidence led business intelligence and performance approach to service improvement to support the group in continuous improvement and service transformation to ensure all residents of Gateshead can ‘Thrive’.

You will be working as part of the Performance Management & Information Team and so you must be effective in working in a team environment. You will also need experience of problem solving in a customer environment, possess highly developed skills in the production and analysis of data and information including the identifying and reporting on measures, have the ability to present outcomes and recommendations and have the experience of supporting and managing change and delivering and implementing service improvement and process redesign. You should have experience of stakeholder management, working with data to identify problems and find solutions. You will need to work closely to share your ideas with staff at all levels and so experience of working with Senior Managers is essential along with good organisational and communication skills and the ability to provide challenge in a diplomatic manner that enables change across the organisation and with partner agencies.

You will need experience in change methodologies, customer focused service improvement and data collection methodologies. You should also have a higher education qualification in a subject with a high IT or statistical content, or significant relevant experience and be experienced in relevant business analysis and process redesign techniques and methodologies or have equivalent experience within a local government setting.
