Student Support Base Coordinator - Maternity cover (approximately 6 months, to start 1 January 2020)

Salary: Grade 4 £20,214 - £22,766 Actual salary to reflect 37 hours per week - Term Time plus 1 week

Consett Academy is currently looking to appoint a temporary Student Support Base Coordinator from 1st January 2020 to provide maternity cover for the existing post holder.

The SSB Coordinator is responsible for leading, developing and managing the Student Support Base. The successful candidate will make a positive and active contribution to the Academy’s Inclusion agenda.

The SSB Coordinator will react quickly to support identified concerns for both students and staff, whilst liaising between staff within the Academy and parents/carers at home. The successful candidate will act as a role model, ensuring all students demonstrate the expected ethos, culture and behaviour to enable them to maximise their potential.

Additionally, the SSB Coordinator will manage the day-to-day running of the base to ensure a safe environment and productive working atmosphere.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate at least 2 years’ previous experience of working with young people. As well as excellent communication skills, you must have resilience and empathy and be able to work effectively under pressure.
