These are exciting times to work in Children’s and Young Peoples Residential Care with South Tyneside Council.

The residential care staff are an integral part of the Care Team and work alongside other professionals to support children, young people and their families to achieve the best possible outcomes by using a range of intervention methods and approaches. The role will support the service to achieve its vision of providing high quality care to children and young people within a residential setting.

The Residential Provision for South Tyneside was rated as an ‘Outstanding’ children’s home by Ofsted in January 2019.

As a Residential Child Care Officer you will assist the Registered Manager in the day-to-day care of young people and other related supportive duties to meet the agreed aims and objectives of the Home. You will work on a flexible relief basis providing cover as and when required.
