We are looking to transform bereavement services in Sunderland and as part of this we intend to build a new crematorium in the near future.

As such we are seeking to recruit an experienced Bereavement Services Manager who will lead on the development of the proposed new crematorium for the city and the delivery of a caring, professional and high-quality service.

You will be responsible for the management of Sunderland Crematorium, ten cemeteries and bereavement and grounds maintenance staff working within them.

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of achievement as a senior manager. If you have delivered outcomes through leading, motivating, managing and empowering teams, have established a strong performance culture including effective performance measures, and the evaluation of service quality and improving service delivery we would like to hear from you.

You should hold an Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management (ICCM) Certificate in Cemetery Management, Crematorium Management or Office Management and hold the full ICCM Diploma in Cemetery and Crematoria Management, as well as be able to gain membership of the ICCM.
