The Register Office is looking to expand its pool of Casual Deputy Registrars. The successful candidates will be able to register and perform marriages, produce copy certificates and provide administrative support to the office.
Previous registration experience is not essential as full training will be given. Experience in a frontline customer service environment is essential together with being able to speak confidently in public. The ability to understand and apply rules and procedures, to maintain accurate records, to take payments and deal with sensitive and confidential information is essential.
The post is casual in nature and you will join a pool of casual registrars whose hours are allocated on an as and when required basis and there are no guaranteed or minimum hours per week.
Casual registrar’s hours are set on a three-monthly advance rota although you are also required to be flexible depending upon the changing demand including covering for staff holidays and sickness. Hours of work can vary throughout the week from Monday to Sunday and include Bank Holidays. You may be required to work at short notice for varying periods of time, therefore a flexible approach to your availability is essential.
For an informal discussion about the post, please contact Elaine Fairley, Registration Officer Manager on tel no: (0191) 643 6164 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
