Would you like to join a team who are really proud of our happy school environment and all work collaboratively to achieve the best outcomes and achievement for all our pupils?

Beverley School is situated in the large post-industrial town of Middlesbrough in Teesside and is an all age specialist school for pupils who have an autistic spectrum condition. We offer a happy, caring and stimulating environment, where everybody is welcomed and respected. Our ethos and core values support this model and are lived out in the daily work of the school.

Currently rated as ‘good’ by Ofsted, we set high standards of learning, placing a high premium on creating a learning environment in which children thrive to the best of their abilities and where we celebrate the achievements of every pupil. We are proud of our school community, providing opportunities for all pupils to have a wide range of experiences and become independent learners.

Our ambition, and yours, will be that Beverley School becomes a centre of excellence for both the provision of autism and for promoting the latest inclusive practices within education. Our pupils deserve an education that will change their lives and give them the opportunity to fulfil their full potential, and in turn, you and your staff will enjoy a fulfilling career, releasing your potential and maximising your impact.

Our opportunity:

We are looking for an experienced Leader to support the staff, pupils and families so we make sure all our children and young people continue to thrive and reach their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and inspirational leader within specialist education to lead the way in transforming the lives of young people on the autistic spectrum and develop a true community school which is linked with community groups, parents/carers, local authorities, and other schools in the region.

Our purpose built site boasts an enviable full size hall, outdoor areas and significant space inside of the building. These all lend themselves to a creative and innovative leader’s ambition to develop an exciting and vibrant curriculum. Aspiration, resilience and the ability to build positive and trusting relationships will be in your character as a leader, as you create a culture of learning and ambition that will see our children and young people develop, grow and contribute an active part in today’s society.

In many ways this is a unique professional opportunity that will allow you to continue to develop and build an outstanding provision for our children and young people who require something a little different. Our children possess all the right pieces to complete their own personal jigsaw, but they require additional support to make them see how their pieces fit together to complete their own picture.

We can offer you:

• Significant levels of support from both the Local Authority, Governing Body and a staff team who is experienced, committed and passionate about our school.
• A staff culture which allows new members to thrive and develop.
• Children and young people who will make you proud to be their new Headteacher.

Beverley School has an incredibly bright outlook and presents a unique professional development opportunity for the right candidate.

For an informal, confidential conversation about the role, please call Rachel Wales who is supporting this recruitment process on behalf of Beverley School and can be contacted at North Yorkshire County Council on 01609 532597 / 07973692529.
