BORDERLANDS PARTNERSHIP
PROGRAMME MANAGEMENT OFFICE

The Romans built a wall - but we’re breaking boundaries.

Would you like to be part of an innovative growth deal and a unique partnership?

The Borderlands Inclusive Growth Deal is the first rural deal to be developed and the only proposal to cross the Anglo-Scottish Border. With £350m investment secured from the UK and Scottish Governments, we are part of a unique area which has untapped potential for growth.

With six key themes: Business; Digital; Energy; Place; Destination; and Rural innovation, we are now moving to the final stages of shaping our deal. We also face some challenges: an ageing population, skills gaps, low productivity and poor east-west connectivity – so we need experienced individuals to help us achieve our ultimate goals.

We are recruiting three posts to establish the Programme Management Office to oversee the delivery of the Borderlands Inclusive Growth Deal. Secondments from the five participating local authorities will be considered.

Borderlands Programme Manager (£68,000)

A motivated and skilled professional, you will lead and oversee the delivery of the investment programme. The Programme Management Office will be central to the Deal, so if you have economic development experience, knowledge of managing funding programmes and a track record of working in a partnership environment then you could be our new colleague.

Covering a large geographical area, your office base can be flexible to suit your circumstances, but the ability to travel will be essential. You will lead a small team, working closely with the partners, whilst reporting to the Borderlands Partnership Board.
