Further Information
The Townscape Heritage Project is part of an ambitious regeneration programme in the centre of the town. A key element of this is the Innovation and Skills Quarter (ISQ) which over the past two years has seen enhancement to public realm, the Northern School of Art invest 11million in a new building and the opening of the BIS, a business centre for the creative industries.

The National Lottery Heritage Fund awarded the Council 1.2million for the Church Street Revival Scheme which has been running successfully since March 2018. The public realm works are complete and a number of community projects have been successfully delivered. We are looking for someone to take this project to completion, delivering the building grant scheme and the remaining activities.

You will be qualified to a degree level in historic building conservation, planning or a related discipline. A good working knowledge of grant funded schemes, management of conservation areas and historic buildings is required for this role, as well as experience in heritage-led regeneration. The project has a strong focus on community engagement therefore experience in delivering community based schemes or outreach work, including working with a diverse range of audiences and stakeholders, would be an advantage.
