Our aims are to continue to provide essential and highly valued services and to build capacity to enable local communities to make lasting change, improve quality of life, and prosperity. As a directorate we lead on developing a culture of co-operation and co production, respecting and nurturing the skills and talents of local people and enabling them to fulfil their potential.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Social Care Income Team within the Social Care Payments and Income Function.
The team endeavours to recover outstanding social care debt by offering advice and guidance to clients, practitioners and providers in relation to social care debt and carrying out timely investigations to establish reasons for non-payment, including contacting clients via telephone and completing home visits.

Applicants should have excellent team work, customer service and negotiating skills, be able to manage and prioritise a complex workload and be able to work using their own initiative. Applicants must be confident and able to complete home visits to clients. Knowledge of social care or benefit procedures is preferred but not necessarily essential as full training will be provided.
For further information, contact Becky Storey, Social Care Income Team Leader on 01287 612630.
The council is an accredited Investors in People employer at gold level and holds ambassador status for the North East Better Health at Work Award.
