This is an exciting time at New College Durham as we have recently invested £8.5 million in a new STEM centre and are in the final stages of approval as an IOT. There has been high investment in new industry standard resources to support high quality teaching and learning.
A vacancy has arisen for a Fabrication & Welding Technician to provide technical support for teaching staff and students within the Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering curriculum area at New College Durham. The successful applicant will ensure the appropriate equipment is available and maintained and is set up for teaching sessions, organising practical work areas for staff and students and ensuring these areas are clean, tidy and safe; along with carrying out risk assessments on equipment to ensure that compliance with health and safety regulations is in place.
The successful candidate will have a recognised Level 3 Fabrication and Welding qualification. Relevant vocational experience of supporting teaching and learning in a classroom, workshop environment or workplace would be an advantage.
