Covering the local authority areas of Durham, Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland, South Tyneside and Sunderland, we are governed by a business led board with representatives from private businesses, higher and further education and the leaders and elected mayor of the seven local authority areas.

An Enterprise Coordinator is required to work on the LEP’s North East Ambition programme, which is a pivotal part of LEP’s North East Ambition programme and the Careers & Enterprise Company’s National Enterprise Advisor Programme. The North East Ambition Programme aims to contribute to the long-term growth of the North East economy by ensuring the pipeline of young talent in to the labour market is better matched with the needs of the region’s employers. North East Ambition is receiving funding from the European Social Fund as part of the 2014-2020 European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme in England.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of working to promote education and business links. You will also have good understanding of employers of different sizes and of school and college structures and working practices. You will have demonstrable ability to work with senior stakeholders to capture their attention, engage and enrol them in careers and enterprise activities for schools and colleges.
