Further Information
Adult Community Team

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Practitioner to work within our well-established Adult Community Team based at Westgate College.

It is essential that you have a clear understanding of the Care Act and other statutory duties within adult social care. We are looking for a dynamic, innovative and committed person, willing to consider all possible options, working with external stakeholders, service users and their families, as well as colleagues within the local authority. The Adult Community Team delivers services to achieve the best possible outcomes for adults and carers who have eligible care and support needs and we draw your attention to the Person Specification for more detail on the particular knowledge-base, experience and skill-set, which we are looking for.

The role requires you to be flexible, adapt quickly and have the ability to make sound judgements, often in an emergency. You will also assist and support colleagues with their continuing professional development and to mentor newly qualified and less experienced staff.

You must have a relevant social work qualification, such as Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent, and current HCPC registration.

We are committed to protecting and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. This post is working in regulated activity. If you are successful we will undertake additional recruitment checks which will include a check to see if you have had any criminal convictions, a check of police information and we will check the barred list(s). It is a criminal offence for a barred individual to apply for a job in regulated activity.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact one of the Team Managers in the Adult Community Team: Aidan Phillips, Hannah Jolly, Andrea Joice or Jen Higgins on 2788100.

As this post involves working with children, vulnerable adults or dealing with sensitive information, written references will be taken up and made available to interviewers before the final selection stage; even if you indicate otherwise.
