Part-time (22hrs 12min hours over 3 day working week).
The Adult Learning Disabilities Team based at the Civic Centre is looking to recruit a permanent Social Work Auxiliary.
As part of the role you will support the Social Workers within the team with practical assistance such as providing pieces of assistive technology, undertaking non-complex assessments and reviews.
You will have English and Maths GCSE at Grade C or Grade 4 above or equivalent and have a commitment to continuous professional development.
You must have good communication skills, a commitment to equal opportunities and experience of working with the public.
You will have knowledge of relevant legislation which includes Care Act 2014. An awareness of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards is desirable.
You will be required to use your own initiative and also work part as of a busy team and have the ability to identify when support/advice/guidance is required.
Good IT skills are essential and an awareness of Local Authority Social Care database (Carefirst) is desirable.
Knowledge of the specific needs of adults with mental or physical health needs or learning disabilities is also desirable
